The Story
A name that describes what already was
In October 2025, a WhatsApp group opened in Kenya under a name that made perfect sense at the time: Ken Builds. Most of what happened inside it revolved around things Kennedy was building — software, experiments, ideas at various stages of almost working. People gathered because of that work, and for a while the name told the whole truth.
Then something became clear, slowly the way obvious things do: the interesting part was never one person’s output. It was the people around it. Different disciplines, different towns, different seasons of life — students, founders, parents, engineers, people who would never call themselves builders but who were quietly making things anyway.
The name started feeling too small.
So it changed — announced to the group not as a launch, but as an observation. One line from that message survived every draft:
Because I finally found a name that describes what already was.
That is the whole origin. No pivot deck, no strategy offsite. A room of people noticed what it had become, and went looking for language honest enough to hold it.

The circle is still small enough that everyone in it knows this story personally. It will not stay that way, and it should not — but the origin is worth keeping exactly where it can be found.
This site is part of the same honesty. It documents itself while unfinished, keeps its promises in public, and says where it is from.
