The empty library at midnight

There is a particular silence in an empty university library late at night. No one is performing. No one is being observed. The work is just... happening.

I keep returning to that image when deciding what this site should feel like. Not a stage. Not a feed. A room where the only audience is the work itself.

The temptation, building anything on the web, is to optimize for the people who are not yet here. To write for the crowd. To perform readiness.

But the work that matters most is done before the crowd arrives — or sometimes, never arrives at all. The site should make room for that, not hide it.
